My First Marina Product Demo

Hey everyone! I just realized today that I didn't make a blog post about my product demo last Saturday 🙈.. For those who don't know I live near a lake and there's a marina where we keep our boat. Since we have a slip I get to use the clubhouse for free which is a pretty big space and gives me access to people in the marina and campground. So I set up my cute demonstrations and had a great time with Elizabeth. People were curious about what was going on and I got to figure out how I like to decorate my table. One of the best perks about being an entrepreneur is that you get to decide how you want to work your business. And you have to have fun while you're doing it. Everyday I learn more about myself and about the network marketing industry and realize that I was made to be different. I want a life that's above average where I have the freedom and flexibility to do what I love.

Region Retreat

Today we had an Arbonne Region Retreat and it was great! I'm going to admit I was a little reluctant to go since I was feeling kind of negative lately and was letting those excuses creep back in. Baseball went late last night and by the time I got home and showered it was around 11:30. I told myself I could just lay in bed and sleep in and possibly zoom call it... but then I told myself that I wouldn't actually be learning and be fully engaged. So I decided if I could run around the baseball diamond with a hurt quad muscle then I could get up early and go to Waterloo. Also Elizabeth was saying that I should still come despite my negative mood and I felt guilty bailing on her. So with only about 2 hours of sleep I got my butt out of bed and got ready.

I'm really glad I went because I got to see Tabatha speak in person again and she's so inspirational. I felt my motivation for the business come back and was able to quiet those little voices of doubt. I also got to hear Tabatha and Virginia (Regional Vice President) speak on more of a personal level which was nice.

Also Virginia has serious house goals - her kitchen is amazing. I love the way she decorates it and all the nice furniture. Not to mention her adorable dog Penny.

Anyway, I took a lot from today and was able to gain more self-confidence. I got my positive self back again and met some more people. I have more of a game plan now for what I'd like to do in upcoming weeks and can't wait to see what's in store.

For now I'm going to bed since I feel like I've been up for two days. Tired Alicia is not a nice Alicia.. good night world ✌

Holiday Weekend

I had a great holiday weekend, I didn't do anything too crazy but got to spend time with family and friends. I went on a boat poker run and froze, baby sat my dog who recently had surgery and spent some time fishing with my family. I'm thankful that I have such great people in my life and live in such a beautiful place. I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

Sister's Fair

Today Domminique and I were vendors at the Sister's Fair hosted by the Sexual Assault Crisis Clinic. It was my first time being an Arbonne vendor and it was really fun. Quite a few people were interested in the products and I learned how to approach people checking out our table. It's also nice to support a great cause and learn more about resources in the community. Not that I'm a hard core feminist but it was nice to be a part of something that empowers women since sexual assault is still prominent in society today.

All in all it was a great day and I'm very happy to have my Arbonne support system. Now I feel more prepared for my next event

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my amazing mom. I don't even know how to thank her for all that she's done for me. She's always been there for me during my bad days and celebrated with me on my good days. I wouldn't have been able to start my Arbonne business or have the courage to go back to school without her support. She looks 10 years younger than she really is and is a 20-something at heart. You'll never catch her wearing mom jeans or having a bad hair day; I'm lucky to have a mom as stylish as her that I can borrow clothes from. Although she will never love squirrels, pigs or cantaloupe I still love her anyway.

Waterloo Adventures

Yesterday I had a great day in Waterloo with my sponsor Elizabeth and her sister Domminique. We go up once a month for region meetings and this time I got to meet my upline Tabitha in person for the first time and heard her deliver an amazing DA. It's so inspiping to hear someone with so much passion and enthusiasm present the business opportunity. It makes me want to push myself into momentum and make may my best month yet.

Side note we came across this cute cafe called Café O owned by a mother and daughter team. They had great desserts which speaks to my heart and the cutest decorations.  The atmosphere is so chill and inviting.

My Weekend in Toronto

Had a great weekend in Toronto visiting one of my best friends Sarah Brown. I was able to show her a bit about my business and practice doing hand scrubs. My friend Katt also came to visit and it was nice seeing her again. It's great to be reunited with university friends.

Although it was a fun weekend I ate out way too much and had a few too many drinks like most people do. So to start detoxing I had a bath with my Arbonne Purifying Sea Soak, 5-in-1 Essential Massage Oil and the Detox Rescue Wash. It really makes my body feel clean and refreshed. 

Happy birthday to My Sisters

Today is my twin sisters' 22nd birthday! I can't believe they're already 22 and almost done university to become nurses. They're both the most kind hearted people and will be great nurses because they love helping others and are passionate about nursing. I'm so thankful to have them in my life. They've always supported me in my business and in anything I choose to pursue. Happy birthday if you guys are reading this!

What's In Your Workout Supplements?

I just wanted to share something that happened to me recently. I started taking a fat burner along with my Arbonne pre-workout about a week and a half ago. I really noticed that I was sweating a lot more during my workouts and was feeling extra motivated which I loved. However, I noticed I wasn't sleeping well and was feeling more irritable. I ignored these signs because I was fixated on having "abs" this summer which is my most challenging muscle group. So this past week I was having a conversation with my mom about money and completely exploded. I was very angry for no reason and was feeling extremely paranoid. I was begging my sister to take me somewhere since I was not feeling comfortable at all. At one point I completely collapsed on the floor sobbing and needed help up because I had lost feeling in my arms and legs. My mom and sister tried to calm me down and then my dog was all over me licking my face and nipping at my hands to make sure I was alright. My dog really helped ground me in that situation since my paranoia was so bad. I realized that this whole thing probably had something to do with the fat burners I was taking since my body naturally has a hard time with too much caffeine. I went to see my doctor and my blood pressure was 153/123 which is extremely high. He was very concerned and told me that the caffeine and whatever else that was in there was messing with my head. Thankfully my blood pressure is now back to normal and I'm sleeping a lot better. I'm back in the gym and sticking to my Arbonne pre-workout since it's more natural and has never affected my body negatively like some other pre-workouts. It's not worth risking your health to get that "perfect body" and now more than ever I'm becoming aware of what's going in/on my body.

Re 9 Body Firming Cream (scar cream)

Hi everyone! I recently started using the Re 9 body Firming cream and I love it. It's used for scars, stretch marks, cellulite etc. It's really soft and smooth and smells great. Also my skin feels soft all day. I'm using it along with the Genius pads that I posted earlier on so we'll see what happens. I will be posting progress pics in a couple months but I've heard that the cream really helps stretch marks too.

I would also like to announce that I've stopped going tanning in tanning beds because I'm trying to take better care of my skin. Sure I miss the warmth but I use my Arbonne tanning lotion instead. I'd like to age gracefully and avoid skin cancer as much as possible. It's hard because you don't really see the damage until later on.  I recently read an article on Facebook of a lady who had skin cancer on her face and she claims to not tan much so that really scared me. Anyway just wanted to share that update.

My Dog Callie

I can't believe it was three years ago today that we got Callie my yellow lab. I remember it like it was yesterday... my dad came home with her and opened the door to my room. I literally could not believe it I thought he was joking and then I started crying. My mom took pictures, which was kind of embarrassing, but it was the best moment of my life (so far). I remember wanting a dog and putting a picture of one on my Christmas list that year and giving reasons why I would love one. Of course they said no but I never gave up. My mom said we would never get another dog because of how much work it is and that's when I unknowingly used the Secret; I asked, believed and received and put my desire out to the universe. She makes me so happy and I would never trade her for anything. I'm so thankful that she came into my life and for all the happiness she's given to my family.

My "Why"

As Independent Consultants with Arbonne we all have a "Why" which is our reason for becoming consultants and joining this great organization. I know I shared my story earlier on but that was the events leading up to joining Arbonne and this is what drives me to get up everyday and work on my business.

Why:

My name is Alicia Miller and I’m an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International in District Manager qualification. I’m a graduate of the University of Windsor in Communication, Media & Film Studies and I’ve been actively looking for a career in my field for over a year now. Like most graduates I have student debt to pay off and would like to become independent and move out of my parents house. I recently had a rough time with a potential job offer and felt hopeless because I put all my effort into it and couldn’t see any other options. I remembered my friend Elizabeth and how she’s an Independent Consultant with Arbonne and decided to give it a try. I already love the products and figured this could really enhance my skills. I’m happy to say that Arbonne has given me that drive back and allowed me to not only change my life but the lives of others as well. I’d like to one day open a facility where people struggling with mental illness, addiction and physical disabilities can experience healing through horses and other animals; and I believe that Arbonne can help me achieve my goal. For the first time in my life I feel positive and excited for what the future has in store for me.

Facial Acne Update

Hi everyone! I started using the Clear Future skin care line from Arbonne last week and so far I'm seeing some pretty good results! I've been using the Corrective Acne Treatment Pads and Intensive Acne Spot Treatment. The Deep Pore Acne Cleanser and Mattifying Treatment Lotion are back ordered since they're so popular. I'm a little bummed about that because I was excited to try the whole line. However, I'm pretty impressed with the results I'm seeing having used only two products twice a day. I've always felt insecure about my acne and acne scars so I would go tanning in tanning beds because that was the only thing that helped. I know it's really bad for your skin and I'm going to stop. Anyway here's some pictures of my face without makeup; I was too embarrassed to take some a few weeks ago. This is my progress so far and I'm quite happy. I've tried almost every acne treatment out there with no luck so I'm pretty happy about this and excited for the rest of the products to arrive!

The Abundance Factor

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share a great movie that I watched last night called the Abundance Factor. It was created by Riley Dayne from British Columbia and it's all about his journey to figure out what Abundance really means. He travels with his camera crew around the world to interview random people on the street and different entrepreneurial professionals and asks them what they think abundance means. It's really cool because everyone has different ideas but there's a common theme where having a lot of money doesn't really mean having abundance; many believe that having more time in their lives and the freedom to do what they enjoy while being surrounded by those they care about most really means abundance. Also, many are entrepreneurs who don't work the regular 9-5 jobs and have more time to do what they enjoy - they understand that there's a greater meaning to life.

Sometimes it takes an accident like Riley had to realize that there's more to life than working a job that you don't enjoy and how important it is to be grateful for all that you have. However for some it just takes stumbling across a film such as this one or being so fed up with your dead end job that you realize you need a change. So many people have a mid-life crisis because they are tired of working twenty plus years at a job they hate and aren't living life to the fullest.

For me this really validates what I'm doing with Arbonne because I know that I don't want to simply "pay bills and die"; I'd like to help others while living my life to the fullest.

If you liked the Secret you'll love this movie because Riley interviews many great minds from the Secret and others who have a similar mindset. It really is an awesome movie and it's only free on his website for few more days so check it out!

Launch Party Shipment Arrived

Hi everyone! I literally placed my first launch party order yesterday and it arrived this morning I can't believe how quick it was! I ordered Clear Future (acne line) for myself and a couple items are so popular that they're back ordered which was a little disappointing because I'm really pumped to try the line. However, I'm glad that all of my clients' orders made it here because that's most important to me. I like them enjoying their products as quick as possible and be happy with what they ordered.

I also ordered some new products from the makeup line such as the liquid foundation, the creme concealer and the highlighter. I also ordered the sunless tanner and some products from the health and wellness line such as the phytosport pre-workout, chocolate fit chews and energy fizz sticks. I'm excited to try all of my new products!

My next launch party will be this Saturday Feb 20 at 7pm and then Tuesday Feb 23 at 7pm.

My First Launch Party!

HI everyone! I just had my first launch party tonight and it was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported me it was really great. I didn't expect anyone to buy anything and I had a few orders placed so that was great! I'm now closer to becoming District Manager and will be getting a cool Arbonne bag! I'm kind of a bag freak. I remember trying Arbonne samples and obsessing over the gold bag the products came in and had to have one. Anyway, I'm super excited and learned so much. I'm thankful Elizabeth was there to support me the whole way and was a great teacher. I'm also greatful that Tabitha (National Vice President) was able to come in through video chat to answer questions and explain more about the company. And I finally got to meet her! Now I feel more comfortable about the next one on Saturday and will be glad to do a hand scrub and do some more talking. Well time for bed and on to the next one :)

My Scar - Before

I just wanted to share an update of what I've been doing with my Arbonne products. Most of you know that I have this massive scar on my arm from a power washer and it ripped a couple layers of my skin off. Basically there was a hole in the hose so as water was spraying out I let go of the nozzle and it went flying around in the air and wrapped around my neck. The water is what took my skin off and believe me it hurt real bad. Now I'm left with this massive scar and I'm hoping for it to fade a bit. I was using Mederma cream but it made my scar itch and would flake off. So I decided to go the Arbonne route; I wash my arm with the Calm Daily Cleanser and then apply the Genius Resurfacing Pads. Below I posted a picture of what it looks like now and the products I'm using. I will post an after picture after I'm done the treatment.(Sorry there's no pictures of the scar right after the incident I was too traumatized to take pictures and it was all bandaged up).

On a side note make sure you're using a power washer with a rubber hose because the plastic one can rub against the motor and burn a hole. Or just make sure the hose doesn't touch the motor at all if it's plastic. Safety first :)

My First Launch Party!

Hey everyone! I'll be having my first Launch Party this week, Wednesday February 17th at my house. I'm so excited but a little bit nervous since it's my first time. I love trying new things so I think it will be fun and my sponsor Elizabeth will be there with me every step of the way. Anyone willing to try product and give feedback is welcome to come; there's no obligation to buy only to try. I would also like practice presenting so it's nice to have a few faces there to look at instead of just my couch. There's going to be four launch parties in the next couple weeks and more details will be posted later on.

Exploring Outside

Today I took my dog for a walk and of course it was freezing out but my lips and skin stayed nice and hydrated thanks to my Arbonne products. I always wear my Arbonne Liquid Sunshine lip balm when I step outside to protect my lips. I can't stand dry chapped lips; especially when you want to apply lipstick. I also wear my FC5 hand lotion to keep my hands from getting dry. Not only do my hands stay moisturized but they aren't slippery and slimy which usually happens after applying lotion.

To keep my body moisturized I apply the renewing body gelee which is amazing and then I apply the seasource detox spa body lotion; it's almost like the body gelee in a lotion.

To keep my face moisturized I apply the makeup primer which is so soft and doesn't irritate my face like the others and then the CC cream in light. It's an awesome base for foundation or even on its own to give your face a nice glow. And then I use the it's a long story mascara. It goes on so nice and doesn't make your eye lashes clump and really does add length.

So far Arbonne has made me much more positive and has given me so much to look forward to. I can already see myself growing as a person and I love it.

Business Order Arrival - Upcoming Launch Party

I'm excited to announce that my business order has arrived and I'm very impressed that it only took 1 day to ship. When I saw the UPS truck outside my house it felt like Christmas morning and I spent over an hour taking pictures and organizing my new products. I also ordered business cards, folders and a couple more products; and picked dates for my upcoming launch parties which will be at my house. The first one will be February 17th at 7pm and I'm really looking forward to it. All are welcome to come out and try products and learn what Arbonne is really all about. Of course there's no obligation to purchase anything however feedback is greatly appreciated.

My Story

Hi everyone! As of last night I became an Arbonne Independent Consultant and put through my first business order. I'm really grateful for my friend Elizabeth who showed me what this organization is truly about and for giving me the opportunity to better myself. Like most young adults my age I graduated university with a degree and some student debt with a vague idea of what I wanted to do. This past year I have applied to so many full time jobs and had interviews with no success of landing the job. Recently I was offered a position at an insurance company although I needed my general insurance license to be able to accept the position. I kept having these thoughts that insurance wasn't for me but continued to pursue this goal. I had tedious online training for five days where I never left my house and was committed to learning everything I needed to know. All I kept thinking was I didn't want to go back to my part-time job and this was all or nothing. I encountered many hurdles along the way which I probably should have took as a sign but since I'm stubborn I carried on.

I went to write my first test in Toronto and ended up with a 71 although I needed 75 to pass. I was really disappointed but figured I did pretty well for having only two weeks to learn everything about general insurance. I went to write again and ended up getting 70 which really upset me. I was sitting in the Eaton Centre after my test just feeling hopeless and that I dreaded going back to my part-time job. I literally didn't see any other option or what I could do to get past this because there weren't many new jobs being posted online that I could interview for. I was also told that I only had three chances to pass or I lost the job offer which didn't help at all. I went home and tried studying again for the following test but it was so hard because reading all these insurance notes made me sick and I kept thinking is this really what I want to do. But I carried on and wrote my test for the third time and got 74; I couldn't believe it and neither could my mom.

I was walking downtown to Union Station just crying and literally didn't care what people thought I was so upset; I couldn't believe what was happening this is not what I had had envisioned. I got on the train home by myself and just sat there staring at the scenery and wondering what to do next and where my life was headed. That's when my friend Elizabeth popped into my head and Arbonne (I was also missing my body gelee) and I thought maybe I should learn more about joining Arbonne since I love their products and literally have nothing to lose at this point. I was feeling so hopeless that I knew I needed to do something to change my life and literally did not care what anyone else thought. I needed something positive to put my energy into and thought that this could really help.

I'm excited to start this journey and will be posting some fun facts, interesting stories about myself, info about Arbonne products that I love and some cool before and after pictures.
